What is ZeroDisrupt?
Quick Verdict
ZeroDisrupt™ is Heat Geek’s proprietary AI heating system designer that uses real-world data to eliminate unnecessary upgrades. By stripping out "design fat," it enables high-efficiency heat pump installations for approximately £3,000 (often cheaper than a traditional gas boiler replacement).
Let’s start with the honest bit.
For years, the biggest objection to heat pumps has been cost. And in many cases, that was fair. Even with the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme, homeowners were often quoted far more than a boiler replacement. On top of that came disruption. Radiators being swapped throughout the house. Perfectly good hot water cylinders replaced as standard. Weeks of design back and forth. A lot of uncertainty.
ZeroDisrupt™ was built to change that.
It is Heat Geek’s AI-powered heating system designer. But that description on its own does not explain why it matters. What makes it different is that it uses real-world performance data from thousands of monitored homes to design the leanest system your house actually needs.
Why Heat Pumps Used to Cost More Than They Should
Traditional heat pump design is cautious by nature. Installers do not want callbacks. Designers do not want systems that struggle in cold weather. So margins get added. Radiators are upsized across the board. Cylinders are swapped by default. Extra materials are included to make absolutely sure nothing underperforms.
It works. Homes stay warm. But that caution also pushes costs up and increases disruption inside the property.
Over the last few years, we have taken a different approach. First, we developed a LiDAR-based heat loss scanning app. Instead of relying on rough measurements and assumptions, we scan each room and capture accurate geometry and construction details. That gives us far better input data at the very start of the process.
Then we made live performance monitoring standard on every installation. That means we do not just design systems and walk away. We see how they actually perform. Real flow temperatures. Real efficiency. Real seasonal behaviour.
Once you combine accurate scanned data with live performance results across thousands of homes, patterns start to emerge. You see which radiator changes genuinely improve performance and which ones make very little difference. You discover that some existing cylinders work perfectly well when matched correctly. You begin to separate what is essential from what is simply precaution.
ZeroDisrupt™ feeds all of that learning back into the design stage.
What ZeroDisrupt™ Actually Does
In practical terms, ZeroDisrupt™ evaluates the best configuration required to hit a chosen efficiency target in your home.
It takes your scanned property data, compares it against thousands of previous installations, and calculates the most cost-effective way to achieve the performance you want. That might mean changing one or two radiators instead of ten. It might mean keeping your existing hot water cylinder if the data shows it will perform well.
On the hundreds of homes where we have tested this approach, we have typically seen around 40 percent fewer parts required to reach the same efficiency. That directly reduces labour time and disruption.
Instead of one to two weeks on site, many installations now take just a few days. That matters when you are living in the house throughout the work. Cost follows the same pattern. Remove unnecessary materials and labour, and the price falls accordingly.
The full installation might still technically sit in the £7,000 to £12,000 range depending on the property. Once the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme is applied, however, our average prices are landing around £3,000. Many come in even lower.
When the sustainable option costs roughly the same as replacing a gas boiler, the decision starts to look very different.
You Stay in Control
Another important change is transparency.
With ZeroDisrupt built into our on-site tools, your installer can show you different design options immediately. You can choose to prioritise lower upfront cost or higher long-term efficiency. You can see how those choices affect running costs. You can explore placement options and understand any price differences there and then.
There is no long wait for revised designs. No endless email threads trying to interpret technical drawings. You see the trade-offs clearly and make informed decisions with your installer in the room.
AI Does Not Replace Engineers
It is important to say this clearly.
ZeroDisrupt does not replace skilled heating engineers. The algorithm cannot see hidden pipework. It cannot solve unexpected site constraints. It cannot make judgement calls when something unusual appears once floorboards come up.
Heat Geek-trained installers interpret and implement the design properly. They handle the real-world engineering. The technology simply gives them a far more precise starting point.
That combination is what makes the system both lean and reliable.
Backed by a Performance Guarantee
Every ZeroDisrupt installation is live monitored.
If the system does not achieve its designed efficiency target within the first five years, we will fix it at no cost to you. That guarantee exists because the designs are based on real performance data, not assumptions.
You are not being asked to take a leap of faith.
Who Is It For?
ZeroDisrupt is designed for typical UK homes currently heated by gas. Victorian terraces. 1930s semis. Modern estates. The majority of properties that would normally call an engineer for a boiler service each year.
For more complex projects, such as large renovations or cascade systems, we offer a bespoke design route through Heat Geek Black Label.
Heat pumps have always had the potential to be cleaner, more efficient and more future-proof than gas boilers. The barrier has been cost and disruption.
ZeroDisrupt changes that equation.
If you would like to see what it predicts for your home, you can check your address and get an instant estimate. It is a straightforward way to understand what a heat pump could look like in your property, without ripping your house apart or overpaying for work you do not need.
Why Heat Geek?
Heat Geek is the UK’s leading platform for high-performance heat pump installs. We don't just "fit a box"; we design systems that meet—and often exceed—the technical rigour of the Future Homes Standard.
Through our ZeroDisrupt™ approach, we use AI to design a system specifically for your property’s heat loss. This ensures your heat pump runs at its maximum potential efficiency, giving you the same "low-bill" lifestyle promised to new-build buyers.
